About our organization

Our son Ryan Dozer was diagnosed with Diffuse Large B-Cell Lymphoma on April 27, 2012 at age 13. Through this journey at Columbus Nationwide Children's Hospital we met a volunteer named Karen Fleshman. Karen is a 30 plus year volunteer who delivers snacks and soda to the oncology and hematology unit every Tuesday night.

Karen was the inspiration we needed to make sure that this terrible event that turned our family on end would create something positive for Ryan and the community that took such good care of our family while going through this fight.

FIGHT LIKE A DOZER was coined by Ryan's schoolmates as a mantra for Ryan to fight through his struggles, sadness and pain to stay strong and beat cancer. He is well on his way to beating this terrible disease, now we want to lift the spirits of other children fighting pediatric cancer, just as Karen had lifted ours by helping these children FIGHT LIKE A DOZER! What started as a plan to deliver smoothies, mashed potatoes and other dinners to these patients, evolved into our mortgage payment program where we ease the financial burden of families by paying their mortgage so that they can focus on what matters, helping their child beat cancer!

Because of the generosity of our donors, we have been able to pay hundreds of mortgage payments in Ohio and Kentucky, and we are on a mission to pay even more in the coming years!

Please donate to help these children FIGHT LIKE A DOZER and beat pediatric cancer.
